Gerking
A trial lawyer with 33 years of experience, Tim Gerking joined the firm in 1979. He specializes in all areas of civil litigation, particularly personal injury defense, management-side employment litigation, and other insurance related disputes. He has tried hundreds of jury trials to verdict in State and Federal Courts and has handled two dozen appeals in the Oregon Court of Appeals, the Oregon Supreme Court and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Mr. Gerking also emphasizes public school law in his practice and represents a number of school districts in Southern Oregon.
He is an active member of the Arizona State Bar and the Oregon State Bar. Mr. Gerking has served on a number of the Oregon State Bar’s most important boards and committees, including the Function and Organization of the Bar Committee, the Mandatory Continuing Legal Education Board and the State Professional Responsibility Board. He has served on the Oregon State Bar’s Board of Governors and is currently Vice President of the Board for the 2008 year.
Mr. Gerking earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Arizona and his law degree at Arizona State University, where he served as an editor on its Law Journal.
Mr. Gerking is a member and past president of the Medford Rotary Club and past President of the Board of the Peter Britt Gardens Music and Art Festival Association, the oldest outdoor performing arts festival in the northwest.
In his spare time, he enjoys running (when not injured), music and reading. He and his wife, Cathy, have three grown children.
